Since the beginning, before time existed, God was: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Eventually, God creates out of nothing, everything we see today. From time and space, galaxies and planets, plants and animals, to human beings in His image and likeness. Now, for reasons only God knows, He has chosen to reveal Himself to certain individuals. Starting with Adam and Eve, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, the prophets, and many others. Even after he dies and rises to new life, thus conquering sin and death, He still only chooses to reveal himself to certain individuals directly.

These individuals then become avenues by which God reveals Himself to His creation. Why does God not just reveal Himself to each and every one of us directly? Well, I would venture to say, He does. The problem is not so much with God’s self-revelation as it is with our self-enclosurement. As an individual, I get in the way of allowing God’s self-revelation to penetrate my mind, body, and soul. Even when God is witnessing Himself to me, I don’t see Him. Again, not because He is not there, but because I do not have the faith it takes to trust that He is in my presence.

I believe this to be a natural issue within every human person. Therefore, it is no wonder why God only reveals Himself to certain individuals directly. God already knows that many of us will never be able to come to know Him on our own, but we might just come to know Him through another witnessing to who He is. Knowing this, we should not be disappointed that God did not reveal Himself to us directly, but rejoice that He uses every means necessary, even the most fragile and broken of people, to help come to know, see, and experience Him. The important thing to never forget, is that whether directly or indirectly, God has chosen you.

How might my self-enclosurement be keeping God from revealing Himself to me?

"A este hombre lo resucitó Dios al tercer día, y le concedió que fuera visible, no a todo el pueblo, sino a nosotros, los testigos escogidos por Dios de antemano."(Hechos 10,40-41a)

Revelado a los que Él Elige

Desde el principio, antes de que existiera el tiempo, Dios era: Dios Padre, Dios Hijo y Dios Espíritu Santo. Eventualmente, Dios crea de la nada, todo lo que vemos hoy. Desde el tiempo y el espacio, las galaxias y los planetas, las plantas y los animales, hasta los seres humanos a su imagen y semejanza. Ahora, por razones que solo Dios conoce, Él ha elegido revelarse a sí mismo a ciertos individuos. Empezando por Adán y Eva, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moisés, los profetas y muchos otros. Incluso después de morir y resucitar a una nueva vida, conquistando así el pecado y la muerte, todavía elige revelarse directamente a ciertos individuos.

Estos individuos se convierten entonces en avenidas por las cuales Dios se revela a Su creación. ¿Por qué Dios no se revela a todos y cada uno de nosotros directamente? Bueno, me atrevería a decir que lo hace. El problema no está tanto en la autorrevelación de Dios como en nuestro auto encierro. Como individuo, me interpongo en el camino de permitir que la autorrevelación de Dios penetre en mi mente, cuerpo y alma. Incluso cuando Dios se está testificando a sí mismo a mí, no lo veo. De nuevo, no porque Él no esté allí, sino porque no tengo la fe que se necesita para confiar en que Él está en mi presencia.

Creo que este es un problema natural dentro de cada persona. Por lo tanto, no es de extrañar por qué Dios solo se revela a sí mismo a ciertos individuos directamente. Dios ya sabe que muchos de nosotros nunca podremos llegar a conocerlo por nuestra cuenta, pero podríamos llegar a conocerlo a través de otro testimonio de quién es Él. Sabiendo esto, no debemos decepcionarnos de que Dios no se nos haya revelado directamente, sino regocijarnos de que utiliza todos los medios necesarios, incluso las personas más frágiles y quebrantadas, para ayudar a conocerlo, verlo y experimentarlo. Lo importante que nunca debes olvidar es que, ya sea directa o indirectamente, Dios te ha elegido.
